Homosapiens: Ultimate Gains and Losses to Date!

Welcome back to the 28th episode of Skeletal Leap: A Living Adventure!

Today’s episode titled “Homosapiens: Ultimate Gains and Losses to Date!” will tell you about human achievements vs losses through homo sapiens bipedal evolution.

We humans have been extremely successful in achieving an unchallenged control over the planet we live on, something none of the other 8.7 million living species could even dream of.

Homo sapiens are ruling the planet at present like dinosaurs once did.

As a species, we have made immense progress in creating tools that gave us the power to establish the said control.

SKELETAL LEAP, the mind body connection for mind and body healing, is a giant leap that our skeleton can take through the way it postures its joints.

I had stumbled upon this miracle many years ago, coincidentally

It took me quite a few years to analyze it fully, and then a few more to turn the results of my analysis into a feasible action plan.

I come up with a new weekly episode every Tuesday morning for miraculous healing enthusiasts to effectively start their weekdays with what they like the most!

Homosapiens: Ultimate Gains and Losses to Date! – Show Notes

Homosapiens: Ultimate Gains and Losses to Date!
Homosapiens: Ultimate Gains and Losses to Date!

In this thought-provoking episode of Skeletal Leap, titled “Homo Sapiens: Ultimate Gains and Losses to Date,” I explore the remarkable yet tumultuous path of human evolution and the consequences of our advancements.

Join me as I dive deep into the duality of human achievements versus losses throughout our bipedal evolution. Discover how Homo sapiens have gained unprecedented control over the planet, surpassing the capabilities of our fellow species, yet simultaneously sowing the seeds of our own potential demise.

From the dawn of tool-making to the rise of complex societal structures, learn how our superior communication skills and abstract thinking have propelled us forward. However, this journey has not been without its pitfalls; the very myths we created to unite us have also led to fragmentation and conflict.

As we stand on the brink of irreversible climate change, I challenge my species to confront the greed and fear that have driven our unsustainable progress. I emphasize the urgent need for a shift in our collective mindset—from competition to cooperation, from a fragmented mind to a unified consciousness.

This episode invites you to reflect on our collective responsibility and the power of an empty mind in fostering genuine understanding and action. Can we learn from our past mistakes and pave the way for a sustainable future?

Tune in to find out!

“What to Do Now?
Today, if we are humble enough to learn

0:00:06.240,0:00:22.080
our lesson, we need to take immediate action.
How do we do that?”

0:00:22.080,0:00:26.560
My name is Laadi Ojas. Welcome to “Skeletal Leap:

0:00:26.560,0:00:34.400
A Living Adventure”. Skeletal Leap
transforms one’s life into a personal heaven.

0:00:34.400,0:00:36.880
Today’s episode will tell you about human

0:00:36.880,0:00:42.560
achievements vs losses through
homo sapiens bipedal evolution.

0:00:42.560,0:00:48.320
We humans have been extremely successful in
achieving an unchallenged control over the

0:00:48.320,0:00:55.600
planet we live on, something none of the other
8.7 million living species could even dream of.

0:00:56.240,0:01:02.080
Homo sapiens are ruling the planet
at present like dinosaurs once did.

0:01:02.080,0:01:08.240
As a species, we have made immense progress in
creating tools that gave us the power to establish

0:01:08.240,0:01:15.440
the said control. The tools kept getting more and
more sophisticated as did our brain’s ability to

0:01:15.440,0:01:23.520
think in abstraction. We, the sapiens, had
another exclusive advantage at our behest.

0:01:24.240,0:01:29.520
We could communicate much better with one
another through the use of our language that

0:01:29.520,0:01:37.040
was way superior to that of other Homo species.
Hence we were better able to cooperate in groups

0:01:37.040,0:01:43.200
while fighting with our competitors for the
purpose of dominance over them. Neanderthals

0:01:43.200,0:01:48.560
who were physically stronger and other Homo
species could not do it so effectively among

0:01:48.560,0:01:55.600
themselves and slowly went out of existence.
It was then that the Homo sapiens discovered

0:01:55.600,0:02:02.480
the power of the mind in creating mythological
stories, thanks to their superior language. And

0:02:02.480,0:02:11.920
then, they soon started believing in them! As
this happened, it acted as a double-edged sword.

0:02:11.920,0:02:18.480
It started imparting an autonomous status to the
mind as separate from a reviewer of the brain’s

0:02:18.480,0:02:26.800
perception and action. It helped the Homo sapiens,
driven by their fictitious beliefs, to start

0:02:26.800,0:02:34.880
cooperating in bigger and bigger groups to achieve
dominance over the planet as a species. But then,

0:02:34.880,0:02:42.480
humanity didn’t stop over there. It allowed these
fictitious beliefs to turn into a unique kind of

0:02:42.480,0:02:50.480
auto-immune disease, not of the individual but of
society. A disease that we have been dealing with

0:02:50.480,0:02:58.720
the repercussions of, ever since.
Wars became the order of the day.

0:02:58.720,0:03:03.600
Marked by the dominance of massive groups
cooperating among themselves in an effort

0:03:03.600,0:03:09.680
to annihilate other massive groups, these
wars paved the path for the competitive

0:03:09.680,0:03:15.440
growth of Homo sapiens’ civilization.
Since then, the story of the growth of

0:03:15.440,0:03:22.800
human civilization has remained much the same
to date. That is why and how these mythological

0:03:22.800,0:03:31.120
stories acted as double-edged swords. Though
they created vast cooperating groups furthering

0:03:31.120,0:03:37.040
tremendous growth and development, the
said growth always remained fragmented.

0:03:37.680,0:03:44.160
The groups remained disparate, miserably
failing to operate as one single cooperating

0:03:44.160,0:03:51.280
group of a species called Homo sapiens.
This was the power of our fragmented minds

0:03:51.280,0:03:57.520
following our fragmented beliefs via our
fragmented stories that took dominance

0:03:57.520,0:04:06.320
over the marvels of the spontaneous brains of a
unique species that we, the Homo sapiens, were.

0:04:06.320,0:04:10.560
Nevertheless, the power to think
in abstraction was a great leap in

0:04:10.560,0:04:18.560
the evolution of the human brain. It gave
birth to new disciplines in science, arts,

0:04:18.560,0:04:27.360
technology and commerce. Human culture started
prospering with inventions of digits and letters

0:04:27.360,0:04:33.920
resulting in mathematics to calculate on one
hand and language to communicate on the other.

0:04:34.640,0:04:39.680
Today, we marvel at our own achievements
within such a short span of time,

0:04:39.680,0:04:47.840
evolutionarily speaking. Once we, the Homo
sapiens, started galloping along the track

0:04:47.840,0:04:55.760
of new discoveries and inventions, we never
stopped. It has been too fast an evolution of

0:04:55.760,0:05:03.680
the brain in too short a span of time. Overall,
our brain size has increased 2-3 times within

0:05:03.680,0:05:10.880
the last 3 million years, starting with the
species named Australopithecus. This was a

0:05:10.880,0:05:18.400
group of hominins from which humans are supposed
to have descended. These 3 million years is quite

0:05:18.400,0:05:25.360
a small fraction of time when compared
to the 3 billion years of life on earth.

0:05:25.360,0:05:34.640
And surprisingly, that process of evolution
is still on! And at the same break-neck speed!

0:05:34.640,0:05:39.760
The Tipping Point of Crisis
We have almost reached the edge

0:05:39.760,0:05:45.920
of the point of no return from the harmful
effects of human-induced climate change.

0:05:45.920,0:05:51.840
As of today, the two major ice sheets
at Greenland and Antarctica are melting

0:05:51.840,0:05:57.920
speedily. If the greenhouse gases are not
stopped from emitting further, the rise of

0:05:57.920,0:06:04.640
the global sea level is going to cause havoc.
If the global temperature ultimately increases

0:06:04.640,0:06:14.160
by 1.5-2oC, the melting of these ice sheets
may become irreversible. Higher rainfall and

0:06:14.160,0:06:20.960
higher flooding events would engulf the northern
hemisphere. It would end up in the extinction

0:06:20.960,0:06:28.960
of quite a few species of plants, insects and
vertebrates. Under extreme weather conditions,

0:06:28.960,0:06:36.400
there are going to be way more spontaneous forest
fires. And we have already started seeing all

0:06:36.400,0:06:42.640
these effects in just the past few years!
As David Attenborough said,

0:06:42.640,0:06:49.280
“What we do in the next twenty years will
determine the future of all life on earth.”

0:06:49.280,0:07:00.080
Who is to be blamed for it?
Our mind, our society and our culture! Who else?

0:07:00.080,0:07:08.960
Our mind is greedy. It is greedy because it is
fearful. We, as a species, wanted to progress

0:07:08.960,0:07:17.440
as much as we could, as fast as we could.
We overexploited our planet’s resources,

0:07:17.440,0:07:25.440
without giving it back what we took from
it. Earth wants to take everything back now.

0:07:25.440,0:07:32.800
Isn’t it a lesson for our mind? Isn’t it a lesson
for the way we have structured our society?

0:07:32.800,0:07:39.520
Isn’t it an indictment of the value system
that we have erected human culture on?

0:07:39.520,0:07:45.200
Where did we go wrong? What
was our earliest mistake?

0:07:45.200,0:07:51.040
Remember I had said that the mind gets
subjectively attached to its faulty apprehensions

0:07:51.040,0:08:01.040
of threat to life, in Episode 20? It overrates the
instincts of self-preservation. On the other hand,

0:08:01.040,0:08:10.000
it suppresses and even represses death instincts.
That is how it distorts reality and corrupts human

0:08:10.000,0:08:18.320
action. It is because all death instincts
including curiosity, interaction, adventure,

0:08:18.320,0:08:27.120
love and sex turn us passionate, insightful
and people-centric. On the other hand,

0:08:27.120,0:08:34.240
self-preservative instincts turn us stupidly
emotional, greedy and self-centric more than

0:08:34.240,0:08:41.920
people-centric.  They want growth as much and
as fast as possible whereas death instincts

0:08:41.920,0:08:50.480
are way saner in their approach. In its greed,
humanity sided with the fastest possible rather

0:08:50.480,0:08:57.280
than sustainable growth that is in tune with all
of nature and, therefore, would have given rise to

0:08:57.280,0:09:04.560
a different paradigm of ‘quality’ of life.
That is why and how the brain is way more

0:09:04.560,0:09:13.360
intelligent than the mind. In fact, the mind
can very easily go stupid. Brain never does.

0:09:13.360,0:09:22.800
That was our very first mistake. In fact, that
was our Original Sin, if any. We gave the entire

0:09:22.800,0:09:32.000
reigns of comprehending psychedelic (incognizable)
reality in a cognizable way to the mind. Reality

0:09:32.000,0:09:40.400
is right, only its cognition is not. We shouldn’t
have made the mind an autonomous entity having the

0:09:40.400,0:09:47.920
power to comprehend reality anyway it likes. It
should have been kept subservient to the brain,

0:09:47.920,0:09:55.680
the real master of perception and action.
Had we managed to do that, psychology as an

0:09:55.680,0:10:01.040
autonomous science would have been redundant.
It would rather have been a subordinate

0:10:01.040,0:10:08.480
discipline under physiology or neurology.
Even with our bloated, fragmented minds,

0:10:08.480,0:10:16.480
we can still get rid of our old prejudices
for/ against fragmented groups that are busy

0:10:16.480,0:10:24.160
cooperating within themselves in order to compete
with or even annihilate others within our own

0:10:24.160,0:10:33.440
species. Today, we can give credit to our expanded
awareness of undivided humanity and stop believing

0:10:33.440,0:10:40.560
in the fragmenting stories created by our
fragmented minds all those thousands of years ago!

0:10:40.560,0:10:47.920
I know I am asking for a big, huge lot. I am
asking for a paradigm shift in our comprehension

0:10:47.920,0:10:55.840
of reality. For this to be possible, the mind
needs to comprehend reality as per the neural

0:10:55.840,0:11:02.640
dictates of the nervous system. It needs to
follow commands of the brain and its entire

0:11:02.640,0:11:10.400
nervous system without trying to affect them
at all. As it right now is, the mind limits

0:11:10.400,0:11:18.160
the efficiency of the brain by corrupting its
perception and consequent spontaneous action.

0:11:18.160,0:11:23.520
That is how, in its greed, it gave a signal
to the best of the human brains to make

0:11:23.520,0:11:32.400
so-called progress as fast as possible.
And look where that has brought us today!

0:11:32.400,0:11:37.440
What to Do Now?
Today, if we are humble enough to learn

0:11:37.440,0:11:43.440
our lesson, we need to take immediate action.
How do we do that?

0:11:44.080,0:11:49.280
We simply need to empty our mind of all the
garbage it has collected in the past thousands of

0:11:49.280,0:12:00.800
years. All its beliefs, all its attachments, all
its prejudices, its morals and emotions! It needs

0:12:00.800,0:12:08.480
to be left alone with what it is there for, i.e.,
the subjective cognition of instinctual awareness.

0:12:09.200,0:12:14.400
It should be left alone as the sense
of ‘I’ with just the set of instincts

0:12:14.400,0:12:21.360
human nature has already provided us with.
We can afford to do it today although we could

0:12:21.360,0:12:28.720
never have done so till date without risking
our very existence on the planet. Right now,

0:12:28.720,0:12:34.480
no other species is left to claim
its dominance on the planet. We don’t

0:12:34.480,0:12:41.120
need to compete with our siblings any more.
Competition has already played its commendable

0:12:41.120,0:12:49.040
role in safeguarding us up to this point of time.
But if it continues, it will turn against our own

0:12:49.040,0:12:59.440
self, as a species. Where else does this happen?
In our own bodies. Exactly like the immunity in

0:12:59.440,0:13:06.560
our bodies that competes against foreign entities
to protect us sometimes turns on itself leading

0:13:06.560,0:13:14.320
to autoimmune diseases, our intra-species
competition is threatening to wipe us out.

0:13:14.320,0:13:19.360
What we need today is a world-wide
cooperation or else, we will run

0:13:19.360,0:13:26.800
our species out of existence. It will be nothing
less than a suicidal act on our collective part.

0:13:27.680,0:13:36.400
Cooperation over competition! Brain over
mind!! Even better, an empty mind!!!

0:13:36.400,0:13:41.120
Okay, what does the mind
do when it is left emptied?

0:13:41.120,0:13:47.440
It gives a cognizable meaning to the psychedelic
perceptions and spontaneous actions of the brain

0:13:47.440,0:13:54.240
without generating beliefs around them.
We need to go agnostic in the truest sense

0:13:54.240,0:14:02.160
of the word. When that happens, we stop living in
our past and/ or future with emotional attachments

0:14:02.160,0:14:10.320
to them. Passion replaces emotions. We are able
to centrally fixate our passionate attention on

0:14:10.320,0:14:16.720
the perception and action of the very present
moment. Central fixation makes it possible for

0:14:16.720,0:14:23.520
the brain to spontaneously think the best without
being distorted by emotional thoughts of the mind.

0:14:24.160,0:14:32.160
When this happens, action is the next spontaneous
step taken by the brain instantaneously. Even

0:14:32.160,0:14:36.640
artificial intelligence (AI) will never
be able to match the human brain since,

0:14:36.640,0:14:42.880
even at its best, it can only
achieve speed but never spontaneity.

0:14:42.880,0:14:52.400
In my first language named Hindi, past is named
‘bhoot’ meaning ’ghost’. I find that hilarious.

0:14:53.360,0:15:00.560
It seems to me to be the best description of
the past. Past is dead and we keep emotionally

0:15:00.560,0:15:07.520
clinging to its ghost or to its cousin,
i.e., its own projection as the future.

0:15:07.520,0:15:14.720
These ghosts masquerading as thoughts possess
our brain and limit or distort its capability

0:15:14.720,0:15:22.480
to spontaneously think without any deterrents.
Thinking is the handiwork of the brain. Chewing

0:15:22.480,0:15:27.760
the cud of thoughts is the handiwork of
the mind. Thinking and chewing the cud of

0:15:27.760,0:15:34.560
thoughts are two diametrically opposite
actions. Let us start thinking as real

0:15:34.560,0:15:41.200
intelligent organisms. Let us stop chewing
the cud of thoughts as stupid dead ghosts.

0:15:41.920,0:15:47.120
Let us tackle these impending emergencies of
human-induced climate change in an absolutely

0:15:47.120,0:15:54.320
intelligent way…while we still can! And that
absolute intelligence can only arise from an

0:15:54.320,0:15:56.800
empty mind.
But what’s

0:15:56.800,0:16:03.760
the modus operandi of emptying the mind?
We have already discussed this in all its

0:16:03.760,0:16:13.520
conceptual details as Skeletal Leap in Episode 26
and Episode 27. However, that is at the level of

0:16:13.520,0:16:22.640
an individual. It is my contention that a similar
approach can be extended to society, as a whole.

sociocultural chakras on the lines of Maslow’s

0:16:35.360,0:16:43.680
hierarchy of needs turning to wants and thus
affecting sociocultural evolution negatively.
